WHAT IS THE SPEECH RETREAT?
If you have been feeling burned out by the #schoolslp life, come to the Speech Retreat to help re-discover what you love about the profession.
When Hallie, Natalie, Felice, and Maureen got together, we realized there were not enough engaging, quality events for SLPs. Are you bored of the usual workshops? You are the reason we created this event!
The Speech Retreat was created because we wanted a place where SLPs can learn and have fun while walking away with practical therapy ideas. We are in the trenches too and know how overwhelming it can be to be a school-based SLP. We have so many responsibilities from data collection, evaluations, lesson planning, behavior management, billing, and more. We want to be able to share what works in our therapy rooms so that you can be refreshed and have tons of ideas to bring back to yours.
Learn from SLPs actually working in the field. Walk away with practical ideas and resources that you can use over and over. Spend the day with like-minded SLPs that "get it!" If you want to learn the way you would like to teach your students, in a laid back, entertaining and fun environment? This workshop is for you! If you have ever found yourself scrambling for an activity 5 minutes before a therapy session, the Speech Retreat is for you! This workshop is perfect for any SLP working with school-age children from elementary through middle school. Preschool and high school SLPs welcome as well!

AGENDA
Speech Retreat will be a 7 hour immersive and invaluable experience.
The day will cover everything from data collection, mixed therapy groups, handling tricky SLP situations, therapy ideas for older speech students, interactive and engaging therapy ideas and more! There will be something for everything for school-base SLPs working with grades K-8! CFs and grad students welcome!
The following learning objectives will be met at this workshop:
1. Learn how to create versatile therapy materials/activities that target a variety of goals.
2. List the benefits of hands on, interactive therapy activities.
3. Learn time saving tips to better manage their school based caseloads.
4. Construct a plan to have a less stressful school year.
5. Meet and pick the brains of some of the awesomest four SLPs ever.

10:00-10:30: Quick & Easy Therapy Ideas
10:30-11: Articulation Therapy Tips and Tricks
11-11:30: Fun and Engaging Social Skills Therapy Ideas
11:30-12: Literacy-Based Therapy That Isn't Boring
12pm-1pm: Lunch and raffle giveaways provided. Photos and meet the presenters are encouraged!
1-1:45: Mixed Groups Made Easy
1:45-2:30: Activities for Older Speech Students

This would be double the price if it was CEU's. ASHA's fees are crazy expensive, ya'll. You can use these hours but they won't be submitted to the CEU registry.
